Charles George Waste Disposal and Recycling has been a leader in LEED, an environmentally friendly building and disposal program, since 2000.
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System was designed to proactively encourage and continue a globally adopted program that ensures green building and development practices. The program has an agreed upon set of accepted tools and performance criteria that companies must adhere to if they wish to be certified in the program.
The goal of LEED is to provide a benchmark that is accepted nationally for the design, construction, and operation of high-performance green buildings that will make an immediate and measurable impact on the environment during the life of the building’s operation.
LEED’s whole-building approach to sustainability takes five key metrics into consideration that relate to human and environmental health when judging performance.
- Sustainable site development
- Water savings
- Energy efficiency
- Material selection
- Indoor environmental quality
How does Charles George Waste Disposal and Recycling fit in? We provide every one of our customers with the necessary tools to implement a successful disposal and recycling LEED program for their project and the building’s operation. This includes up-to-date recycling reports, provided regularly, for complete transparency into exactly what and how much of your waste is recycled.
Materials eligible for the LEED Recycling program include:
- Comingled Containers
- Solid Fill (brick, masonry, concrete and asphalt)
- Clean Dimensional Wood
- Gypsum (sheetrock)
- Ceiling Tiles
